Why People Love Greeting Cards
Greeting cards have always been a very special way to connect with others. There's something magical in the exchange of giving and receiving a card because, in essence, it's a secret gift.
The giver feels a bit of excitement as they slip their note into the mailbox, anticipating the affect it will have on its receiver. And the receiver's heart lifts with surprise upon discovering the card, feeling blessed in that moment. But much of the impact depends upon how personal and powerful the card itself is, because it's not always easy for people to share their most loving sentiments.Â

Through the years I've spent a significant amount of time in card shops purchasing hundreds of greeting cards, though I've yet to find a card that's courageous enough to address the most personal and the most real of life’s challenges, in the most personal and the most real of ways. Some companies have attempted it, but few cards actually contain the raw and vulnerable words that our hearts really need to hear.
There are plenty of funny cards on the shelves, but few that are dedicated to supporting real emotions in life--and it sometimes feels like there's a Pretending Hole between us all. In an effort to help fill that hole, I created greeting cards that I believe will open hearts and communicate what people aren’t saying enough or simply can’t find the words to say at all. Cards of courage and hope and new beginnings.
